Custom Patient Metrics
As you build your patient data libraries, you will want to define and track many metrics that are not found within, or derived from, the patient DICOM data.
In ProKnow DS, we call these “Custom Metrics” because the users get to define these metrics — their labels, their data types, their data object level — without limit and according to the organization’s needs. Custom metrics are set at the organization level and are accessible to all users. There are three main components of a custom metric:
- Name. This will be a short description, easy to recognize by all users when entering, accessing, or analyzing.
- Type. The metric result type can be defined as a number (e.g., normalcy of diet ranked on a scale of 0-100), text (e.g., genetic marker label), or choices (e.g., discrete options of a drug regimen).
- Context. The metric can be tagged to a specific data level, such as patient (general), image set, structure set, plan, or dose.
As you archive and analyze your patient data on ProKnow, these custom metrics can be entered by a number of methods: manually from within the Patient Module, batch upload from a spreadsheet, or via user-customized automation using scripting tools that can be integrated with the API.
