Federated Identity & Single Sign-on

Many institutions use a federated system by which each user’s identity and attributes can be linked across multiple systems requiring secure access. For example, a federated identity system might use a single sign-on (SSO) for authentication across multiple IT systems or devices.

If your organization has an existing SSO solution, then your dedicated ProKnow DS domain can be configured to use it, provided it uses Security Assertion Markup Language version 2.0 (SAML 2.0), an XML-based protocol for sharing authentication and authorization across multiple security domains.

Using a federated identity system reduces the overhead of managing user accounts within ProKnow by leveraging your existing identity management system. This allows you to get up and running faster, no matter how large your staff or how expansive your network.
